Jeffrey Ried

Jeffrey RiedJeffrey Ried, co-founder of the Ethiopian Education Fund, works to improve partnerships in the corporate and philanthropic world.  He has his PhD in molecular biology, received a Fulbright Fellowship for India, worked in start-up companies as a science writer, and during his six years at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation worked to reduce poverty and improve the health of the poor in Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia.  From 2002 to 2004, Jeffrey along with his wife Stephanie Garlichs served in southeast Ethiopia as co-director of a health center, which treated 25,000 patients a year.
